We're Collecting School Supplies for Kids in Foster Care - Here's How You Can Help

Although the summer monsoons just began, it is already time to start thinking about getting ready for the kids to go back to school. Most schools here in Arizona start in early August. For so many parents and guardians, this is an exciting time. For kids in foster care, there can be a lot of anxiety around going back to school without the supplies they need.

That's why we're partnering with The Foster Alliance this summer to support their Back-to-School Drive - a supply collection effort reaching 5,000+ children in foster care across Arizona and New Mexico.

And we'd love for you to be part of it.

What Is the Foster Alliance?

The Foster Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children in foster care and the families who care for them. Their Back-to-School Drive provides children with the school supplies they need to start the year feeling prepared, supported, and seen — things every kid deserves walking through that classroom door.

How You Can Help

There are three easy ways to get involved:

1. Drop off supplies at our Flagstaff office

We're collecting school supplies right here at Flagstaff Law Group. Stop by during business hours and drop off any items from the wish list below. Our goal is to have supplies gathered by Friday, August 7th, but if you need a little more time, we'll still make sure every item gets to a child who needs it.

2. Bring supplies to our Taps & Trusts event on August 5th

Joining us for our free estate planning workshop at the DoubleTree by Hilton? Bring a school supply donation and help us fill the collection box while you're there.

3. Donate or shop the wish list online

Can't make it in person? You can donate directly or shop The Foster Alliance's Amazon Wish List at TheFosterAlliance.org.

Why This Matters to Us

At Flagstaff Law Group, so much of our work is about protecting children — making sure they have guardians named, that their needs are provided for, that the adults in their lives have the legal tools to show up for them. Supporting The Foster Alliance feels like a natural extension of that.

Kids in foster care are navigating a lot. Showing up to school with a full backpack is a small thing that makes a real difference.

If you're able to contribute - whether it's a box of crayons or a full backpack's worth of supplies - we're grateful for it.

Or stop by our office and drop something in the box.
